Broken Head 2022: Customer Testimonials

Xavier Ratabour, in the Paris region

My name is Xavier Ratabour, I’m 42 years old and I’m a gentle glide on my 43.
I’ve been practicing stand-up paddleboarding recreationally since 2017 (lake and seaside vacations) and since 2021 I’ve started competing in small competitions.
I mainly practice stand-up paddleboarding in the Paris region (on the Marne River in Val-de-Marne, on the Canal de l’Ourcq in Seine-et-Marne), and rarely at sea given my geographical location.
My old board was an NSP Sonic, more downwind-oriented. I chose the Broken Head 2022 for its price, its design, and the fact that it’s more flat-board-oriented.
For me, the strong points are its stability, its glide, its comfort, and its design.
The Broken Head 2022 is a very beautiful board that allowed me to gain experience in competition. I recently bought an Arrow Head Inezic to take it to the next level. Thank you Patrice for this magnificent work!

Emmanuel Bouchel, in the North

My name is Emmanuel Bouchel, or Manu, and I’m 63 years old. I’ve been stand-up paddleboarding since 2012, and I met Patrice in 2016. In 2017, I ordered my first 3 BAY!
I paddle in Lille at the Grand Huit, on a canal, but I also sail at sea, on lakes, and in competitions. After being introduced to the sport by my oldest friend, I now teach many people through the club and provide those who want it with improvement and advice on both technique and equipment, so they can progress as best they can in races.
I started on a JP AUSTRALIA inflatable, then I bought my first rigid board, a 12.6 F ONE, and I fell for an ALLWATER 3 BAY 14×26, which I still use today. I tried the BROKEN HEAD 2022 in 14×25 in Annecy, after the Glagla race, and I came away with it!
It’s ideal for flat water; it’s fast, and its shape reminds me of my F ONE, which was very fast on flat water. At sea, I find it efficient, as well as for downwind; a truly versatile board! I’m delighted with this board, and it also delights my two friends, who made the right choice to trust me by also choosing to buy a BROKEN HEAD 2022.
Patrice makes beautiful boards; he listens to the needs of athletes. It’s made in France, and I’m delighted to be promoting it in France, Belgium, and Italy. In fact, many people stop to look at my two beautiful 3BAYs!
See you soon!

Jerome Christ, in Morbihan

My name is Jérôme Christ. I’m 48 years old and I’ve been paddleboarding for a little over a year. I live in Arradon and I paddle SUP in the Gulf of Morbihan, mostly solo.
Before buying the Broken Head 2022, I had an inflatable board I’d bought from a colleague.
I wanted to upgrade to a rigid board, and the Broken Head 2022’s value for money appealed to me. Visiting the 3 Bay workshop in Plescop and testing it on the Gulf with Patrice allayed my initial hesitation.
I’m currently in the discovery phase of this board, and I’ll be sure to provide further feedback.

Jean-Claude Leprêtre, in the Somme

My name is Jean Claude Leprêtre, I live in Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme, and I’m 55 years old.
I’m a former Oc1 paddler and I started SUPing 8 years ago.
I mainly paddle in bays where I experience a variety of conditions: chop, waves, flat water, as well as on the canal and at sea. So, I need an ultra-versatile board.
I paddle solo, and my previous board was a LOKAHI 12’6 x 30”.
There are two reasons that led me to choose the Broken Head 2022. First, I really like the work of Patrice Remoiville and 3 Bay. Second, the price was a deciding factor. I would have liked a truly seaworthy, custom-made board, but that’s out of my budget at the moment.

What I appreciate about the 2022 Broken Head is its comfort: I immediately had a good feeling: stability, glide, everything is there.
I would also like to highlight the quality of the craftsmanship, the sturdiness, the handles, and the really practical net.

I’m not disappointed with my choice! It was a real pleasure sailing on the Broken Head 2022.
Thank you for the quality of the work and the care taken with the packaging!
