Mathias and his adventure with 3 Bay Paddle: love at first sight!

When Mathias first came across 3 Bay Paddleboards during a competition, he was immediately captivated: “The bright colors and transparent carbon fiber really stood out. These boards caught my eye from the very first races.” The visual appeal was only the beginning of his interest in the Breton brand. “When I learned that the boards were handcrafted in France, in Brittany, it confirmed my desire to learn more. There is a real human dimension behind each 3 Bay creation.”

But it was during a test day in Annecy that the turning point really happened. Mathias had the opportunity to try almost all the models in the range. “The feel on the water was incredible. I immediately connected with two models in particular: the Inezic and the Irus. The gliding sensation was perfect, with a subtle balance between speed and stability that I had never found anywhere else.”

At 1.75 m tall and weighing 70 kg, Mathias was looking for a board that could accompany him on the lake, but also follow him at sea. He finally chose the Irus. “It’s stable in choppy conditions while remaining dynamic and lively underfoot. And on calm waters, it really allows you to set the pace. It’s a board that suits me perfectly, whether for competition or simply for the pleasure of riding.”

For Mathias, customization made all the difference. “Patrice, the shaper, listens to me. He guided me in choosing the dimensions, volume, and finishes. Having a board adapted to your size and style is a real luxury. I’m so satisfied with my experience that my next board will definitely be a 3 Bay. Definitely an Inezic!” [In the end, it will be the Squid!]

His advice for those still undecided? “Don’t hesitate. At 3 Bay, each board is unique and tailor-made. Patrice guides you every step of the way, and the personalized design is a real plus. It won’t make you go any faster, but it’s absolutely classy!”
